| 2011- 2012 Season Information |
| Watsonville Starlings Volleyball is a non-Profit college prep athletic program that offers the sport of volleyball at the club level to girls for a cost that does not become exclusionary for families. While junior club volleyball dues are often expensive, Starlings club dues are dramatically minimized to offer the opportunity to athletes from ALL communities. For the 2011-12 season, fees for the program will be $600. Starlings will be holding try outs for their 17s program in November, exact dates TBA. Adding Starlings Santa Cruz to the family will make things better for the future of the evolving AND growing program. Check out hundreds items including cookie dough, magazines, jewelry and food... $50 gift certificates for $20 and $100 certificates for $35 at hundreds of restaurants & bars in Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Jose & San Francisco... and 40% of the proceeds go to the group. Whats coming up... Watsonville 17s Practice... Mondays & Wednesdays 6:30 to 8:30 at the First Christian Church in Watsonville. Santa Cruz 16s will hold their try outs on Saturday, February 11th from 3 to 5 pm at the Circle Church in Santa Cruz. Check the above WINTER TRYOUTS link for more information. | In 1999, there were 32 graduating high school seniors in Starlings programs. Of those 32 girls, 31 enrolled in college, and nine girls received partial or full volleyball scholarships. Beginning in 1996, over 150 volleyball scholarships have been awarded from universities including: Kansas State, Clark-Atlanta University, Virginia State University, Long Island University, Coppin State University, Morgan State University, Howard University, Jackson State, Florida A&M, Grambling State University, and Hampton University. |
