Starlings UPDATE...
On SATURDAY the 15's opened up their Area League in San Jose with an
amazing performance.   The young Starlings went in and finished in 8th
place, which was GREAT for their first BBBIIIGGG tournament!!!

Pictures of all tournaments played so far have
been posted!

Starlings... What's coming up
THIS WEEK... all athletes will be practicing/conditioning
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4 to 6pm at Pajaro Valley
High School.

On February 13th - 15th, the 18's have their first BIG TOURNAMENT...
Presidents Day at the S an Jose Convention Center .

The registration $150.00 fee is due for all athletes, practice and
traveling... Make checks out to Watsonville Starlings.
Registration fees must be paid before we can play in any
tournaments.

Starlings is looking for individuals looking to help with a
team.   We have space for one coach & a stipend is
available.   Contact Coach Rico for more information!!!

In 1999, there were 32 graduating high school seniors in Starlings programs. Of those 32 girls, 31
enrolled in college, and nine girls received partial or full volleyball scholarships. Beginning in
1996, over 150 volleyball scholarships have been awarded from universities including: Kansas
State, Clark-Atlanta University, Virginia State University, Long Island University, Coppin State
University, Morgan State University, Howard University, Jackson State, Florida A&M,
Grambling State University, and Hampton University.

Watsonville Starling Volleyball is a college prep
athletic program that offers the sport of
volleyball at the club level to girls for a cost that
does not become exclusionary for families.
While junior club volleyball dues are often
expensive, Starlings club dues are dramatically
minimized to offer the opportunity to athletes
from ALL communities. For the 2009-2010
season, dues for the 12's, 14's, 16's & 18's
team will be $475/$575. Practices will start in
November for the 2009 program. Check out
the Starlings Schedule in October for more
specific times and locations.
